Bill Shute is an executive management professional and government relations expert with high-tech startup experience who has spent his entire professional career working in the federal policy arena. In addition to creating and hosting 80-Proof Politics, he is currently Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of the Scholars Advisory Board for Dome Compass, Inc., a non-partisan mobile platform for federal policy decision-makers, and is the Executive Director of the LBJ School of Public Affairs Washington Center.

He ran the University of Texas System DC office for 18 years as Vice Chancellor for Federal Relations where he managed a staff of fourteen and was responsible for facilitating and enhancing the federal research and development portfolio of the UT System, reviewing and advocating federal policy, and overseeing a multi-campus undergraduate and graduate fellowship program.
